Transforming Young People’s Lives Through Heritage

A truly inspiring client, team and project …

It’s a real privilege and hugely exciting supporting 1625 Independent People (1625ip) with the business plan for their Round 2 National Lottery Heritage Fund application for Kingsley Hall.

As the South West’s largest youth homelessness charity, Bristol-based 1625ip has supported tens of thousands of young people to transform their lives since its inception 40 years ago. The multi-million pound Lottery project is designed to bring Kingsley Hall, the charity’s Grade 2* listed building in Bristol’s Old Market conservation area, into sustainable, long term use as a safe and welcoming place where young homeless people can overcome isolation, develop skills and rebuild their lives.

In the words of 1625ip: ‘It will connect disadvantaged young people to the life of Bristol through its heritage and redefine Kingsley Hall’s historic role in promoting beneficial social change. The project uses heritage as a platform to transform young people’s lives by developing their skills, building relationships, and strengthening their sense of identity and belonging. The project will harness young people’s immense empathy and talents to achieve positive change in their lives and community.’
